In order to change an engine coolant thermostat, it is necessary to first partially empty the cooling system. Take out the upper intake manifold, sever the surge tank outlet pipe and cut off the coolant inlet pipe. Take off the old thermostat and seal and replace it with the new thermostat with a new seal. Populate and connect components. Fill in cooling system.
