How to replace the shift knob on 2010 Cadillac CTS?

In order to access the Shift Knob, pull up the rear of the shift control closeout boot retaining ring and pull it off the console. Cling to the shift control knob and pull it up straight out to take it out. Installation Reinstall by locating the boot and knob assembly and pushing down to fix it and attaching the retaining ring.
