Securely lift your vehicle before you start changing the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for Bank 2 Sensor 1 position. Separate the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer alongside detaching the HO2S pigtail electrical connector from its port on the engine wiring harness electrical connector. Next, remove the HO2S . The threads of an old installed HO2S need antiseize protection through application of GM P/N 12377953 or similar compounds due to specialized anti-seize threads containing liquid graphite and glass beads that help with HO2S removal. Fasten the HO2S with 42 Nm torque strength (31 lb ft). Proceed by attaching the pigtail electrical connector of the HO2S to the engine wiring harness electrical connector while also installing the CPA retainer then lower the vehicle.
