To replace the wheel drive shaft outer joint and boot, it needs to remove the vehicle's drive axle. Next you are to remove and dispose off the large seal retaining clamp with the help of j 35566 (Seal Clamp Pliers) clamp and so will the small seal retaining clamp. Clean and degrease the joint and apply j 8059 (Snap Ring Pliers) to bend the snap ring away from the outer joint and Axle Shaft. Also, it must be mentioned that the outer joint has to be replaced entirely in order to avoid performance issues, as well as to prevent the risk of injury. Having removed the seal from the joint assembly, place a new one on the Axle Shaft. Again, use j 8059, spread the snap ring, and remove the outer joint and Axle Shaft. According to the recommendation, fill the joint seal with 110-130 g (3.9-4.6 ounces) of the recommended grease and repack the joint with the same weight. Mount a new large seal retaining clamp and a new small seal retaining clamp (crimping both using J 35566). Finally, reinstalling the drive Axle Shaft, fit everything back to the vehicle.
