The first step to replace a shock absorber includes removing the trim panel followed by moving the sound insulator away from the shock tower. Disconnection of the electrical connector to the F55 suspension should come first before removing the upper shock mounting nuts. Before installing the new shock absorber properly lift the vehicle while implementing correct lifting standards. The lower shock mounting bolt removal requires cutting the automatic level control air line from the shock of the F55 suspension so you can extract the shock out of the vehicle. The installer should put the new shock on the vehicle and follow all fastener caution directions. Address the lower shock mounting bolt before tightening it to 150 Nm (111 lb ft). Install the automatic level control air line to the shock for the F55 suspension before gently lowering the vehicle while guides the shock into its proper position. Reposition the sound insulator around the shock tower after you connect the electrical connector for the F55 suspension and install the upper shock mounting nuts with a torque of 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Finish the process by reinstalling the trim panel.
