• Q: How to replace the ignition coil for Bank 2 on 2009 Cadillac SRX?

  A: Before starting the replacement of bank 2 Ignition Coil turn the ignition off and safely remove the engine cover while maintaining fuel pipes and hoses intact. To replace the Ignition Coil in cylinder 2 position you must first disconnect the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body while also separating the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover and make sure there is no separation between upper and lower Intake Manifold pieces. After removing both Intake Manifold bolts and Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) you can then remove the brace to properly position the upper Intake Manifold against the lower Intake Manifold for Ignition Coil removal access. Begin by disconnecting the Ignition Coil electrical connector(s) then remove the Ignition Coil bolt(s) and finally remove the Ignition Coil(s). After installation place ignition coils in their proper positions while ensuring Ignition Coil bolt(s) get tightened to 10 nm (89 lb in) torque before reconnecting the Ignition Coil electrical connector(s). Upper Intake Manifold installation should proceed if needed.
