How to replace the drive belt for the water pump and generator on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

The Water Pump and generator belt replacement procedure starts by removing the front compartment sight shield if needed. The Drive Belt tensioner should receive a clockwise rotation for belt tension release to remove the Drive Belt from the Water Pump Pulley. You can take off the Drive Belt from accessory drive pulleys after needing to slowly release the Drive Belt tensioner. After positioning the Drive Belt onto the Crankshaft Pulley and tensioner and generator follow by rotating the Drive Belt tensioner clockwise before you install the Drive Belt onto the Water Pump while ensuring correct alignment into the accessory drive pulley grooves. Reinstall the front compartment sight shield after you slowly release the Drive Belt tensioner.
