How to replace the front disc brake pads (JE5, JL5 or JE5, JL5 (AWD)) on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

First check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level before starting work. If the fluid reaches halfway between high and low marks you can proceed without draining anything while you need to lower the fluid to the middle when it is above the acceptable range. Lift the vehicle up and take out the tire and wheel unit. Adjust the c-clamp to push the brake caliper pistons toward each other during a slow tightening process. Keep the brake caliper steady with heating mechanic wire to stop damaging the brake hose connection. Push the brake caliper guide pin bolt out with the back up wrench before lifting the caliper up and securing it. Take out both brake pads along with their springs from their location. Check the brake caliper guide pins and seals for damage or corrosion while looking over the Brake Pad springs. Insert Brake Pad springs followed by inner pad and outer pad. Then rotate the brake caliper into place. Use degreased denatured alcohol on the guide pin bolt threads then apply half the threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 into bolt threads. After 10 minutes of curing let the thread locker dry before putting in the brake caliper guide pin bolt with 63 nm (46 lb ft) torque. Use the Brake Pedal before installing the wheel to reach about two-thirds pedal travel then release it. Repeat this until you feel a solid brake feeling that ensures proper pad and piston seating. Use proper tools to finish the job by filling the brake reservoir and letting the pads slowly contact the rotor.
