How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud (Non-HP2) on 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

A draining process of the cooling system needs to occur before replacing the Radiator fan and shroud elements (Non-HP2). Begin by separating the air inlet duct then disconnecting the upper Radiator Hose from the Radiator before removing the Radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud. Customers need to move the surge tank inlet clamp placed at the Radiator if needed and remove the entire surge tank inlet hose. First disconnect both Radiator fan electrical connectors after you remove the wiring harness clip from the shroud. Also detach the transmission cooler lines bolts from the fan shroud. First open the engine oil cooler line clip before you remove the cooler lines from their position. During the procedure disconnect the Radiator fan shroud bolts then extract both the Radiator fan and shroud. The Radiator support flange receives the 3 lower tabs of the shroud but they need to be parallel with the Radiator. Screw the Radiator fan shroud bolts into place at a torque of 9 n.m until they reach 80 lb in. Mount the cooler lines into the clip before closing it then connect electrical connectors to the fans and secure the harness clip onto the shroud. Secure the transmission cooling line bolts at the fan shroud with proper torque of 4 n.m (35 lb in). The surge tank inlet hose should be installed onto the Radiator before repositioning its clamp. Secure the clip on the Radiator inlet hose at the fan shroud while reconnecting the upper hose and then reinstalling the air duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.
