How to replace the Dipstick Tube on 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?

The first step to replace the oil level indicator and tube is to uninstall the air cleaner outlet duct. First, remove the oil level indicator after which you need to raise the vehicle for work access. Remove the hook of the engine wiring harness clip from the oil level indicator tube bracket while removing the knock sensor electrical connector lead from the same bracket. Lower the vehicle before removing two bolts that secure the oil level indicator tube and tube itself. The tube requires new O-ring seals that need installation if required. Position the oil level indicator tube before installation and fasten it with the bolt while keeping a torque setting of 10 N.m (89 lb in). The vehicle should be raised while technicians reconnect the knock sensor electrical connector lead to the oil level indicator tube bracket. At the same time they need to install the engine wiring harness clip to the same bracket. First step after repair is to insert the oil level indicator and then place the air cleaner outlet duct on the system.
