You must start the crankshaft balancer replacement process by taking out the Drive Belt and engine splash shield. You should install the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) together with a breaker bar to the balancer before starting to loosen the balancer bolt. Following the removal of the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) and breaker bar, the crankshaft balancer should have its bolt discarded before the balancer is taken off. The new crankshaft balancer needs to be positioned before inserting the crankshaft balancer bolt. The installation procedure requires a breaker bar combined with the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) for bolt torque to 100 n.m (74 lb ft) when measuring with the angle meter (J 45059). As a concluding step replace the engine splash shield and the Drive Belt.
