    A: Steering wheel security with a strap becomes vital during a Rack And Pinion (LNF-2.0L) replacement to avoid sir system damage. Steer the wheel directly ahead while using the strap to lock the wheel position. Take out both front tire and wheel assemblies. Use steering linkage and tie rod puller (J 24319-B) to remove Rack And Pinion outer tie rod ends from steering knuckles while discarding both Rack And Pinion outer tie rod end nuts. First remove the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt at the Rack And Pinion before separating the intermediate Steering Shaft from the Rack And Pinion. Begin by taking out the Catalytic Converter and transmission rear mount. First unfasten Rack And Pinion bolts before removing the Rack And Pinion from the left wheelhouse opening. Steer the new Rack And Pinion through the left wheelhouse then bolt it into place at 110 n.m (81 lb ft). Finish the installation by securing the transmission rear mount and Catalytic Converter. The intermediate Steering Shaft requires a new bolt to connect it with the Rack And Pinion according its torque specification of 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Reinstall the front tire and wheel assemblies after tightening new nuts on Rack And Pinion outer tie rod ends to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) followed by a 90-degree torque angle and toe adjustment.
