Begin front disc Brake Pad replacement process (JL9-J55) by checking the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. Drain fluid when it sits above the midpoint between maximum and minimum settings. Before you work raise your car and take out the tire along with wheel components. Use a wheel lug nut to hold the rotor to the hub and apply hand pressure to secure the parts when using a large c-clamp positioned over the brake caliper. Press the ends of the c-clamp against the rear of the caliper body and place an old Brake Pad or wood block between a wood block and the caliper arm to compress the caliper pistons. Put down the c-clamp before removing the upper guide pin bolt of the brake caliper and hang the brake caliper with mechanic wire to keep the hydraulic brake hose safe from damage. Lower the caliper and take off the brake pads to check Brake Pad retainers. Replace the slide boots when they show damage during this examination. Put back the Brake Pad retainers and new brake pads while placing the Brake Pad wear sensor in its right spot. Position the caliper upper bolt then tighten it to 23 lb ft (31 N.m) of torque. Set the wheel back in its place, let the vehicle reach ground level, and push the Brake Pedal halfway down yet slowly release it with the engine turned off. Put the Brake Pedal through its motion until you reach a solid force then refill the brake reservoir before running the brakes on the rotor surface.
