How to replace the door check link for Notchback and Hatchback on 2008 Chevrolet Aveo?

Both Hatchback and Notchback models require the door trim panel to be removed first when replacing the door check. The process starts with relocating the door seal trim; then you should remove the bolts that keep the door fastened to the body. Detach the link which controls door opening assistance hardware. Install the door check by screwing its ends to the door and body while keeping the door check-to-body bolts at 35 N.m (26 lb ft) and door check-to-door bolts at 5 N.m (44 lb in). Both Notchback and Hatchback car models should have the door seal trim relocated before reinstalling their door trim panels.
