To replace the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for bank 1 sensor 1, start by making sure the ignition is off. It is time to separate the ho2s and the electrical connection; this has to be detached from the wiring harness bracket. Lift and keep the vehicle off the ground without any risk. It is important to mention that it is easier to remove the Oxygen Sensor when the engine temperature is above 48°c (120°F). After a lot of caution, gently pull out the ho2s from the Catalytic Converter trying not to dismantle the permanently attached pigtail and connector. During the installation of the new or reused ho2s, confirm that the threads are covered with anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 or equivalent since a different anti-seize compound is used on the Oxygen Sensor threads. Mount the ho2s to the Catalytic Converter and tighten onto it 40 n.m (30 lb ft) of torque fitting. Lower the vehicle, install the ho2s electrical connector back to the wiring harness bracket and secure it to it.
