  A: The replacement process of the left side Exhaust Manifold starts by disconnecting the front Engine Mount Bracket. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) after enabling the removal of the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer. First remove the ho2s valve then separate the Exhaust Manifold front pipe bolts and Exhaust Manifold bolts before extraction of the Exhaust Manifold. Take the Exhaust Manifold out of place while discarding the Exhaust Manifold Gasket together with the front Exhaust Manifold pipe seal. Return to the manufacturing instructions and detach the front Exhaust Manifold pipe flange. Position the front Exhaust Manifold pipe flange with a new seal onto the Exhaust Manifold while inserting the top right Exhaust Manifold bolt. Place the new Exhaust Manifold Gasket over the bolt and let it rest against the manifold surface. The Exhaust Manifold should be positioned into the front Exhaust Manifold pipe and Cylinder Head surface while you finger start the front Exhaust Manifold bolt. Start by tightening Exhaust Manifold bolts from this right location first with 25 n.m (18 lb ft) until all bolts are fully installed in a left-to-right direction. The installation of front pipe Exhaust Manifold bolts takes place after. To install the ho2s from an old sensor, apply an anti-seize compound gm p/n 12377953 or compatible type onto the threads before tightening the sensor to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). The engine harness electrical connector must be connected to the ho2s followed by cpa retainer installation and placement of the front Engine Mount Bracket.
