Start the procedure by taking out the upper Intake Manifold before moving onto the drive belt tensioner. The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve outlet pipe requires removal by detaching its bolt and nut following a connection pipe detachment sequence. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) allow you to reposition the hose clamp at the Thermostat Housing before you remove the radiator inlet hose from the Thermostat Housing. Begin by removing bolts from the generator brace bracket and subsequently detach the bracket and spacer. Remove the lower Intake Manifold bolts before taking out the lower Intake Manifold combined with its accompanying seals and gaskets. When replacing the lower Intake Manifold you need to remove the ect sensor together with the Thermostat Housing bolt and stud and the Thermostat Housing including the sealing mechanism. Install the generator brace bracket together with spacer and tighten both bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Put the upper Intake Manifold in position after reinstalling the drive belt tensioner.
