    A:
    The replacement of the upper Intake Manifold starts with removing the air cleaner outlet duct followed by the Fuel Rail assembly. First disconnect the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose from the upper Intake Manifold fitting and the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe quick connect fitting from the purge solenoid. First remove the nut and bolt securing the engine wiring harness heat shield before taking off the shield. You must first remove the upper Intake Manifold through bolt removal and stud unfastening. To access the Intake Manifold for replacement the technician must first remove the MAP Sensor retainer followed by dismantling the evap purge solenoid and bolt. Free the upper bolts on the Throttle Body and undo the lower nuts before removing the Throttle Body assembly. To remove the vacuum fitting you should squeeze its side retainers before discarding the o-ring seal. The technician should extract the upper Intake Manifold gasket carrier from the Intake Manifold assembly. Install the upper Intake Manifold by attaching the gasket carrier and installing a fresh vacuum fitting o-ring seal. Install the vacuum fitting by squeezing its sides before reinstalling the Throttle Body and tightening its upper bolts. Fasten the Throttle Body lower nuts after tightening all bolts and nuts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.).
