How to replace the rear brake line (Drum) on 2007 Chevrolet Malibu?

Start by elevating and suspending the vehicle before you remove the wheel assemblies for rear brake hose (Drum) replacement. The first step is to wipe away all foreign parts and dirt from each brake hose endpoint along with the brake pipe fitment. Use a flare nut wrench on the brake pipe fitting and a brake hose back up wrench to disconnect the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose . Immediately cap both ends to stop fluid leakage and contamination. Disconnect the Wheel Cylinder by first removing its brake hose retainer and brake hose-to-Wheel Cylinder bolt then pulling out the brake hose. Eliminate the two copper brake hose gaskets that have adhered to either the Wheel Cylinder or brake hose end while also installing plugs or caps to seal off the Wheel Cylinder and brake hose openings. When installing new copper brake hose gaskets should be used. After removing the brake hose caps or plugs install new copper gaskets followed by the brake hose and brake hose bolt to the Wheel Cylinder with bolt torques set at 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Cutaway the brake pipe fitting end caps and brake hose end plugs before attaching the brake hose to brake hose body bracket and securing it with hose retainer . Use a back up wrench on the brake hose to connect the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose by torquing the fitting to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Before installation check that the hose stays clear from suspension components. Take out the hose and address the issue if it touches any components. Lower the vehicle after bleeding the hydraulic brakes and installing the wheel and tire combination.
