How to replace the thermostat (RPO L61) on 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt?

In order to remove the thermostat, drain the cooling system, remove the intake manifold cover. Redo positioning of radiator outlet hose clamp and afterwards take off hose. When necessary remove the thermostat cover and thermostat, disregarding the O-ring seal. Reattach hose and fill in cooling system with a new O-ring, thermostat and cover.
