How to service and repair the oil pick up/strainer and replace the oil pump on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

In order to service the oil pick up/strainer and replace the oil pump, make sure the left bank idler sprocket is in position. Disassemble the main timing chain, crankshaft sprocker and remove the oil pump bolts and pump. Wipe the pump and clean and wipe the sprocket and timing chain and replace the pump and sprocket.
