How to replace the door check link on the front on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

Begin door check replacement at the front by taking out the door trim panel as a first step. Starting from the door panel you will reveal the check by pulling back the forward section of the water deflector. Start removal of the check by removing both the door check to body bolt and check to door nuts before extracting the door. Install the check into the door opening before covering the check nuts with a torque setting of 9 N.m (80 lb in). Fix the front body hinge pillar bolt with the check arm with 9 N.m (80 lb in) torque setting. The last step is to return the water deflector and the door trim panel into their original positions.
