  A: The process of replacing the evaporator inlet tube requires using the halogen leak detector (J39400-A). The first step requires clearing the air cleaner assembly before recovering all refrigerant from the a/c system. Start the procedure by taking out the Wiper Motor module before extracting the evaporator inlet tube clamp nut. Use the a/c pressure sensor electrical connector disconnect procedure to detach the part from its position on the evaporator inlet tube before extracting the sensor from the tube. The procedure continues with a/c pressure sensor nut removal while disconnecting the evaporator outlet tube from its attachment point at the thermal expansion valve (TXV). Fasten a cap or apply tape to a/c refrigerant components right after disconnecting the evaporator inlet tube from the evaporator outlet tube to stop contamination. The installation requires cap or tape covering of txv and then removal of the evaporator inlet tube to condenser fitting bolt followed by disconnecting the inlet tube from the condenser while securing every component with caps or tape. Remove the evaporator outlet tube bracket bolt before lifting the bracket for the inlet tube clearance. Locate the inlet tube underneath before discarding sealing washers from the inlet tube. To install the evaporator inlet tube first position new sealing washers onto its end then raise the outlet tube bracket before sliding in the inlet tube. Fasten and torque the evaporator outlet tube bracket bolt until it reaches 5.5 n.m (45 lb in) tightness. Once you remove the tape or cap from the condenser you should connect the evaporator inlet tube to it using the condenser bolt which you should tighten to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Activate the txv by removing tape or cap followed by connecting the evaporator outlet tube to it and finally tightening its nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Screw in the evaporator inlet tube clamp nut by 3.3 n.m (29 lb in) before adding the a/c pressure sensor to the inlet tube at 5 n.m (44 lb in). Connect the electrical connector to the a/c pressure sensor and reinstall the Wiper Motor module as well as the air cleaner assembly. As the last step evacuate and recharge the a/c system while testing for leaks on fittings with the halogen leak detector (J39400-A).
