How to replace the Center Console in a small car with a manual transmission on 2006 GMC Canyon?

In order to install a manual transmission where the console is fitted in a small car, unclench the strips holding the shift lever cover, then unlatch the console and pull it out. To install, fit the console with the floor panel, install the retainers and the retaining strips.
