How to replace the rear door check on 2006 GMC Canyon?

You should start the rear door limiter replacement by removing the rear side access door trim panel first. Disassemble the rear side access door check from the body structure by removing its securing bolt then move onto unfastening the bolts connecting it to the rear door. You should first remove the rear side access door trim panel then detach the door check from the body before taking the check away. Put the new rear side door check opposite the door with its alignment mark pointed up before securing it with appropriate nuts. Secure the rear side door check to the door using the installed nuts while tightening them to reach 9 N.m (80 lb in). Tighten the bolt which connects the rear side access check to the body until it reaches 25 N.m (18.4 lb ft). The last step requires installing the rear side access door trim panel.
