How to replace the front outside door handle on 2006 Chevrolet Impala?

Temperature the procedure to replace an Impala front outside door handle involves raising the window to its maximum height then removing both front door trim panels with optional front water deflector removal. Before beginning protect the surrounding paint by placing masking tape on top of the outside handle. Open the outside door handle rod until it reaches the lock clip on the door lock before taking out the lock cylinder rod from the outside handle. The next step requires removal of both the inner door panel door handle bolt access tape along with bolts from the outside handle area. Take out the outside handle and rod units from the door. Install the outside handle first followed by the rod onto the door and insert and tighten the outside handle bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). First reconnect the base of the door handle bolt access tape to the inner door panel and after that secure the lock cylinder rod to the outside door handle slot. Set the outside handle rod inside the clip before activating the clip cover to surround it. Check the proper function of the outside handle while removing masking tape before reattaching the front door water deflector along with trim panel installation.
