How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

Before swapping the stop lamp switch take your time to disconnect its electrical connectors. To take the stop lamp switch out you need to turn the knob in an opposite direction. Pressing down on the pedal lets you compress the locking tabs more easily for removal of the switch retainer from the brake assembly. Make sure to join the electrical wires to the stop lamp switch while adjusting it correctly to prevent brake drag and avoid damage to the braking system. Steer clear of stepping on the Brake Pedal when you assemble it to dodge the formation of a brake drag problem.
