How to replace the ignition lock cylinder on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?

In order to change the Ignition Lock Cylinder, unconnect the negative battery cable to turn SIR system off. Unfit the steering column trim covers and theft deterrent control module (where fitted). Turn the ignition lock cylinder to RUN position, depress the retainers to take it off, and fit the new cylinder. Install parts and switch on the SIR system.
