The first step to replace the Transfer Case input shaft seal involves taking out the Transfer Case from its mount points. The combination of the seal remover (J 45278) with slide hammer w/adapter (J-2619-A) allows users to slide the hook end towards the seal lip and shaft before turning the hook 60 degrees and extracting the seal with the slide hammer. The area which requires sealing along with the input shaft require solvent cleaning to remove residual seal materials. The installation process of the new input seal begins with the usage of driver handle (J 8092) and input seal installer (J 46269). Finally, reinstall the Transfer Case.
