How to Replace the Coil Springs (FE1 and FE3) on 2006 Cadillac DTS?

To replace the coil spring (FE1 and FE3), lift and support the vehicle first. Pick up the tire and wheel then to support the lower Control Arm with proper jack. Remove the automatic level-control link from the lower Control Arm, then the lower retaining bolts of the shock absorber and the adjustment link retaining nut. Use the steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) and slowly lower the lower Control Arm until it leans onto the support assembly, so that the coil spring can be detached. For installation, place the coil spring in such a way that the insulator is fully installed in the lower Control Arm. Raise the lower Control Arm and bolt on the lower retaining bolts of the shocks absorber, tightening them to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Next, join adjustment link on the Control Arm, and secure it with adjustment link retaining nut, tighten it to 30nm (22 ft ibs) then an extra 180 degrees. Relink the automatic level control link to the lower Control Arm, replace the tire and wheel and finally, lower the vehicle.
