2006 Buick LaCrosse Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?
A: Before you replace the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor you must disable the SIR system. Before connecting power ensure you have safely attached the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (SIS) and prevent SIR deployment and injury to personnel. Open the window for entry then pull out both the door trim panel and enough water deflector to see the side impact sensor . Start by loosening the sensor bolts then remove the sensor from the door while disconnecting the connector position assurance (CPA) from the side impact sensor connector. Bring the new inflatable restraint side impact sensor near the door while cleaning the mounting surface before attaching the sensor to its location using the side impact sensor connector. Fit the CPA onto the connector before you attach the side impact sensor to the door and tighten bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). You should put back the water deflector followed by turning on the SIR system.
