How to replace the inner tie rod of the Quiet Valve on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

In order to change the inner tie rod of the quiet valve, take off the rack and pinion boot and hold the gear in a vise. Unattach inner tie rod, take off shock dampener and turn it counter clockwise with a pipe wrench. Wipe off and apply loctite where necessary. Install the parts again, making sure to stake and clean threads.
