How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier?

In order to replace the rear compartment lid latch, make a mark on the lid with a grease pencil of the position of the latch. Take off the lock cable and unclip the cable door to access the remote release cable. Take out the latch assembly bolts and the latch assembly. Install the new latch assembly and re-connect the cables.
