The first step to replace the CMP Sensor on Bank 1 Right Exhaust is to take out the fuel injector sight shield. The right bank exhaust camshaft position sensor electrical connector needs to be disconnected while marking the connectors because they can be easily swapped. The right bank exhaust camshaft sensor requires removing its retaining bolt before extraction from the system. During installation apply engine oil to the Camshaft sensor O-ring followed by an evaluation for potential deterioration as a new one should replace it if required. Secure the right bank exhaust camshaft position sensor using its retaining bolt at 10 N.m (89 lb in). Connect the electrical connector of the camshaft sensor before placing back the fuel injector sight shield. The engine operation will follow to inspect the camshaft sensor for possible engine oil leakage.
