How to Replace the Coolant Pipe on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

The coolant outlet pipe (LP1, LY7) installation requires complete drain of the cooling system. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) allowed removal of the radiator inlet hose from the coolant outlet pipe. You need to uninstall the bolt which attaches the oil level indicator tube, coolant outlet pipe and engine front lift bracket to the Cylinder Head. You should first remove the coolant outlet pipe from the Thermostat Housing and discard both o-ring seals. Before installation apply coolant on two new o-ring seals that go into the coolant outlet pipe grooves while avoiding any twisting. Install both the coolant outlet pipe into the Thermostat Housing after inserting the engine front lift bracket bolt to secure the oil level indicator tube, coolant outlet pipe, and engine front lift bracket to the Cylinder Head. Secure the oil level indicator tube bolt with 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) torque. To complete the cooling system connection you should use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) for attaching the radiator inlet hose to the coolant outlet pipe while you fill the system with coolant.
