How to replace the exhaust heat shield on 2005 Buick Rendezvous?

In order to change the exhaust heat shield, lift and stand the car without taking out the muffler. Unscrew the fasteners that hold the muffler and the catalytic converter together, and then remove the rivets of the heat shield. Install the new heat shield using new rivets, rematch the muffler and lower the vehicle.
