How to replace the rear Tail Light assembly or turn signal bulb on 2004 GMC Sonoma?

To change the endgate or liftgate down, open the endgate. Unscrew the screws clamping the assembly then turn the bulb sockets in a counter-clockwise position to loosen them. Removing the bulbs and replacing them with new ones then reattaching the socket back to the assembly is sufficient.
