The first step to replace the Transfer Case input shaft seal starts with Transfer Case removal. The user should position the hook end of the seal remover (J 45278) by the seal lip and shaft before rotating the hook approximately 60 degrees and extracting the seal using the slide hammer with bearing adapter (J 23907). Working with solvent remove all old seal material from both the input shaft as well as the seal area. You should drive a new input seal into place with the driver handle (J 8092) together with the input seal installer (J 46269). Finally, reinstall the Transfer Case.
