  A: The first step in left rear parking brake cable replacement requires vehicle elevation and support followed by right rear tire and wheel detachment. The intermediate park brake cable requires a downward pull near the park brake connector for disconnection from its cable connector. Proceed to remove the left rear park brake cable from its connection points with the equalizer. The Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043) should be used to downpress the left rear park brake cable retainer after which you can remove the left rear park brake cable from the left rear park brake cable support bracket. Remove the left rear park brake cable from the left rear park brake actuator lever using the Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043) which depresses the retainer on the left rear park brake cable before removal from the left rear park brake cable support bracket . The left rear park brake cable bracket requires installation of the cable with correct seating of all locking tabs. Attach the left rear park brake cable to the left rear park brake actuator lever then install it properly to its left rear support mounting bracket. The left rear park brake cable needs to be attached to the equalizer as well as to the park brake cable connector through the intermediate park brake cable. After lowering the vehicle the last step is to reattach the left rear wheel assembly followed by applying the parking brake pedal once or twice for proper cable retainer seating.
