2003 Chevrolet Tracker Drive Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the cooling fan drive belt on 2003 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Starting the process of cooling fan Drive Belt replacement requires disconnection of the negative Battery Cable. The fan operation becomes easier when you adjust the adjusting bolt followed by the pivot bolt. From there you start relieving tension on the belt through counterclockwise tension bolt rotation. You should use a second wrench on the fan shaft to hold it steady when removing 4 fan nuts while making sure the Radiator remains undamaged. Break the fan off its connection to the pulley hub before eradicating the fan belt. Place the fan at a distance from the pulley hub before placing the new fan belt and fasten the fan to the hub. When installing the 4 fan nuts use a second wrench to hold the fan shaft and tighten them to 11 nm (97 inch lbs.). When installing the fan belt on the pulleys position the belt correctly before turning the tension bolt clockwise to reach the recommended angles of 4 - 5 mm (0.16 - 0.20 inch) for new belts and 5 - 7 mm (0.20 - 0.27 inch) for a used belt under 10 kg (22 lbs.) of force. After setting the proper fan belt tension install the adjusting bolt and pivot bolt at 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). To finish the procedure reattach the negative Battery Cable by screwing and tightening the bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.).
