How to replace the pitman arm on 2003 Chevrolet Express 3500?

Beginning the Pitman Arm replacement requires that you elevate and support the vehicle properly. Position the power steering gear in a vise after its removal. First remove the Pitman Arm nut together with its washer from the assembly. Two tools are available for detaching the Pitman Arm from the pitman shaft: the Pitman Arm puller (J6632-01) and the universal Pitman Arm puller (J29107-A). To install the new Pitman Arm position it on the power steering gear while aligning the same reference points made during removal between the Pitman Arm and the Pitman Arm shaft. The installation requires a new Pitman Arm washer along with its necessary nut to achieve proper torque levels set at 250 nm (184 ft. Lbs.). The power steering gear needs its removal from the vise before reinstallation followed by allowing the vehicle to lower and inspecting the wheel alignment.
