How to replace the lower ball joint on a coil spring suspension on 2002 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?

In order to change the lower ball joint of a car with coil spring suspension, lift the vehicle and support it, then take off the tire and the wheel assembly. Disassemble the lower control arm, tap out the rivet heads and fit the new ball joint. Install the lower control arm and tire again and make sure that the wheel alignment is correct.
