2002 Chevrolet Prizm Emblem Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the body emblem, molding, or nameplate on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?
A: To change the body emblem, molding, or nameplate, first collect required tools including The Body Molding Removal Tool (J 41409). First, use masking tape to outline the body side of the component to act as both a scratch guard and an alignment aid. Carefully heat the molding, emblem or nameplate to a temperature of 40-60°C (104-140°F) using an auxiliary heating source, taking care not to overheat. Use the Body Molding Removal Tool (J 41409) to cut through the adhesive material and detach the component from the vehicle. For installation, thoroughly clean the mounting area with an appropriate solvent like a 50/50 mixture of Isopropyl alcohol and water and completely dry it. In the exterior edges of the component, apply adhesive tape with the body area of the component in the range of 20-30°C (68-86°F), heating when needed. In addition, ensure the component is at the same temperature range heating it if necessary. Take off the adhesive tape release sheet then attach the component to the body surface while pressing it along its length to make it bond uniformly.
