Service and repair of the Pressure Plate starts with transmission removal. You should loosen the clutch cover bolts slowly until the spring pressure decreases when you need to remove the clutch cover alongside its disc. When installing the Flywheel assembly position its marked x side towards the painted light side on the clutch cover. The clutch alignment arbor (J 29074) should be used for clamping the clutch cover to the Flywheel assembly. Install the clutch cover to Flywheel bolts starting from the sequence and use torque wrenches to tighten each bolt to 20 nm (16 ft. Lbs.) before rotating them 45 degrees before completing the tightening process. The clutch alignment arbor (J 29074) needs to be removed following the procedure then the inside diameter of the bearing requires gm p/n 12345777 or equivalent lubrication before reinstallation of the transmission which completes with hydraulic system bleeding and negative Battery Cable connection.
