To fix the rear brake caliper (regular model) you must take it out first from the vehicle. When brake fluid leaks through the caliper rear to the park brake shaft seal you should replace the brake caliper because the un-fixable seal cannot be repaired alone. You need a small wooden or plastic tool to remove the Brake Caliper Piston dust boot seal retaining ring after seeking the caliper sleeves and dust boots. A spanner wrench enables you to turn the Brake Caliper Piston counterclockwise and take out both pieces including the dust boot seal. Take off both the Piston dust boot seal and Piston seal from within the caliper part. Move the bleeder valve out of the caliper body position while putting the park brake actuator lever return spring back into place to decrease spring tension. Check the built-in park brake system for proper performance after verifying that the brake caliper needs full replacement due to damage in its mechanism. Use denatured alcohol to clean the Brake Caliper Piston bore along with seal counterbore, piston, and sleeves. Then dry them with filtered air that has no lubricant. If you spot light rust or surface corrosion on the caliper bore use fine emery paper to clean it but for deep damage you need to replace the assembly. Examine the caliper Piston pieces for damage and replace all that need replacement. Also look at the dust boots between the caliper sleeve and mounting holes to determine if they are deteriorating or hurt. Free the park brake lever by removing its spring and nut then taking off the lever. Pause for a moment when removing the service tab of the park brake actuator shaft seal before checking the sealing surface for harm. Put silicone brake lubricant on a new park brake seal before placing it into the shaft and afterward setting the brake lever and return spring. Install the new Piston seal by adding delco supreme 110 brake fluid (GM part 12377967 or Canadian part 992667) into the seal before placing it into the caliper bore together with the new dust boot seal. Push the caliper Piston into the bore from the outside before tightening it until it reaches its complete position and wedging the Piston dust boot seal in place with the retaining ring. Insert the bleeder valve and put high-temperature silicone brake lubricant on both sleeves and mount points. Put back the dust boots and sleeves as you finish the process. Before moving forward install the brake caliper back into place then test the brake system during bleeding to check for any leaks at the Piston dust boot seal. Replace the caliper Piston if you find front-side brake fluid leaking.
