A: Replace the upper Intake Manifold by draining the engine coolant from the cooling system. Detach the Throttle Body air inlet duct, remove the acclerator control and cruise control cables with bracket from the Throttle Body. Unplug the wiring harness connectors from the throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve and remove the engine left side Spark Plug Wires and their harness assembly clip. Next, disconnect the Throttle Body heater hoses, the vacuum hoses from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve and then remove the evap canister purge solenoid valve. Unbolt the ignition coil bracket and pull it away, disconnect the wiring harness connected to the manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor as the vacuum harness from the MAP Sensor & upper Intake Manifold. Remove from the upper Intake Manifold the emissions control vacuum harness, vacuum brake booster hose, and vacuum hose connections, including the hvac vacuum source hose and Fuel Pressure Regulator. Take out the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, the MAP Sensor and its bracket, and the upper Intake Manifold studs and bolts for the removal of the upper Intake Manifold. In case of replacing the Intake Manifold, remove Throttle Body and upper Intake Manifold gasket, clean and check the upper Intake Manifold. For installation after being removed, install the upper Intake Manifold gasket followed by Throttle Body and finally the upper Intake Manifold. Mount the bracket and MAP Sensor and attach the upper Intake Manifold with the use of studs and bolts, but reinstall the EGR Valve. In connecting vacuum hoses, connect vacuum hoses to upper intake of manifold, including the heater as well as the air conditioning vacuum source hose along with the Fuel Pressure Regulator; vacuum brakes booster hose. Reconnect and reinstall the emission harness vacuum, followed by reconnecting a MAP Sensor to a vacuum hose of the upper Intake Manifold, and the upper to the sensor of a wiring harness. Mount the ignition coil bracket with the coils, the evap canister purge solenoid valve, and hook up vacuum hoses to the solenoid valve. Reconnect the Throttle Body heater hoses, the engine left side spark plug wire harness attachment clip, and connect the Spark Plug Wires.
