  A: During the replacement of the inner joint and seal of the constant velocity joint, first remove the wheel drive shaft and the large side inner joint boot clamp using the aid of the j35566: seal clamp tool then the small side inner joint boot clamp. Mount the inner joint housing boot and clamps on the wheel drive shaft without crimping them, just yet. Set the index marks on the tripot joint and the wheel drive shaft so the beveled splines of the tripot joint face away from the transaxle then mount the tripot joint in position on the wheel drive shaft using the snap ring . Stuff the inner joint housing with 165 - 185 grams (5.8 - 6.4 ounces) of grease (yellow) from the inner joint boot kit, align the index marks on the inner joint housing and the tripot joint, and install the inner joint housing onto tripot joint. Mount the inner joint boot and clamps to the inner joint housing then measure the length of the wheel drive shaft, make that the boots are not stretched or overly contracted, the right wheel drive shaft stands 857.4 mm (33.756 inch), plus or minus 5.0 mm (0.197 inch), while the left wheel drive shaft stands 540.2 mm (21.268 inch) plus or minus 5.0 mm (0.197 inch). Use the j35566 to draw the closing hooks of the clamp together using crimp the clamps before inspecting the boots for any distortion or dents if there are any correct them to their original state before re-installing the wheel drive shaft.
