2001 Chevrolet Metro Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 1 W/PUP Catalytic Conv) on 2001 Chevrolet Metro?
A: Service of the Oxygen Sensor (HO2S 1 W/PUP Catalytic Conv) requires an engine that is cool since higher temperatures than 48°c (120°F) make removal difficult while protecting Exhaust Manifold threads from damage. Start by first removing the negative Battery Cable and following up with the disconnect of ho2s 1 electrical connector. Take the ho2s 1 out from the Exhaust Manifold opening. The new ho2s 1 model arrives with an anti-seize protective layer that can stay intact upon installation; removing the applied coating should only be performed when using an original sensor and applying anti-seize compound to the threads. Mount the ho2s 1 directly on the Exhaust Manifold before tightening it to 40-50 n.m (29-36 lb ft). The installation process ends by rejoining both the ho2s 1 electrical connector and the negative Battery Cable.
