- Q: How to replace the right Blend Door Actuator on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?A: Override your replacement begins with front floor kick-up panel removal followed by ip electrical center cover removal and ip upper trim pad extraction. Remove the rh side window defogger outlet duct from the windshield defroster duct so you can reposition it forward. The next step requires technicians to remove both the defroster door actuator together with the i/p lower insulator panel from the right-hand side. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to release the retaining tabs on the lower half of the rh floor air outlet duct before removing retaining screws from the floor air outlet duct. You need to relocate the duct downward to reach the temperature actuator more easily before disconnecting the electrical connector and unscrewing the actuator fasteners to extract the temperature actuator. To install the new temperature actuator position it correctly while guiding the actuator driver slots through the flats on the rh temperature door shaft. Then lower it onto the shaft until the actuator's locating hole touches the forward alignment pin on the hvac module case. The actuator must reach full insertion point where mounting hole positioning achieves proper contact with the hvac module case. Install the retaining screws that secure the actuator at a torque of 1.5 n.m (13 lb in) before connecting the electrical wiring. Secure the floor air outlet duct to the hvac module case by driving and tightening 1.6 n.m (14 lb in) retaining screws. Reinstall the lower section of the rh floor air outlet duct before putting in the ip lower insulator panel - rh, defroster door actuator and rh side window defogger outlet duct. Complete the installation sequence by first repositioning the ip upper trim pad and after that the cover to the ip electrical center and finally the front floor kick-up panel. The HVAC Control Module requires recalibration through removal of the hvac con Fuse when you replace the actuator.
