Start by removing the Camshaft followers and clean the rocker arms while performing an inspection. When installing Camshaft followers users need to use gm p/n 12345001 or equivalent lubricant generously on both the roller pivot pocket and valve slot. The proper installation of the follower requires that it sits directly on the valve tip so all parts of the roller can touch the Camshaft lobe. The followers should always return to their initial positions if they will be used again. Next position the Camshaft followers onto the valve tip while using the shla as the base. The follower's rounded end must be directed toward the shla while the flat section faces the valve tip. Finally, install the left camshafts.
